A Lesson in Humility

Tonight was the annual Cub Scout pack's cake baking contest. The focus was not on the baking, but the decorating. With a little help from me, James ably baked a cake from a mix, and created a beautiful Christmas tree cake -- to be entered in the holiday theme category.

Well, he didn't win (the turkey did).

After failing to even place, he was feeling "robbed" -- a sentiment his grandmother echoed, or maybe even suggested. happy

After a very short pout though, he agreed that a good scout is also a gracious loser, and couldn't wait to eat his creation!

That tree cake was adorable (and cuter than the turkey, IMO)!! James did a great job and should be very proud :) Nicole
